At the zoo where I did my practical course, they bred their own rodents and the zookeepers had to kill them, sometimes even take the intestines etc. out (even though they are so good for the health of the predators, but the keeper told me, they do it because some visitors do not like to see intestines *rollseyes*) and then feeding them to the animals...
*sigh*
My favourite solution would be to take living animals and let the predators hunt them, so they are buisy and not bored and it is most natural, and they could eat the intestines and organs, too.
Or well just feed them frozen but not kill them myself. I just cant do it *lol*

Wow, those are some harsh rules. At the zoo I work at even the carnivore and reptile keepers don't kill any animals, all the meat and rodents are shipped to the zoo frozen. That's really weird that you would be required to do that. But that's awesome that you can learn to help animals through natural medicines, I wish you the best of luck with that.

I know, but in Germany, they told me, that for the education you have to learn how to kill animals, even when you work with herbivores later. (for example for the case, a zookeeper becomes ill and one has to work in his category then during the time he is ill)
I also tried to become a keeper at animal shelters, but they already had so many workers or they did not have the money to present an education. thats why I had to give up. Now I want to become a healer for animals. (I dunno the correct word in english, its something like a vet, but they work with natural medicine, and not only treat the symptoms of the illness but look for reasons, do massages, alternative methods and so on)
